Location
This Temple located in Tampak Siring district , Gianyar regency . It's about 36 km from Denpasar city . The road are fairly good and can reached by any vehicle . On the west side of the Temple , high on the hill there is a Presidential palace that was built during Sukarno's time ( Indonesia founding father ) .
Story
The Temple was built around 960 AD , during the ruled of Raja Candra Bayangsingha .from the Warmadewa dynasty . The same as other structure of the most Balinese Temple . its divided into three main courtyard such as : outer yard , middle yard and the main yard of the Temple where the prayers are take place . The story begins when The king of Mayadenawa's time ( the king of Batu Anyar ) , Mayadenawa was such a tyrant forbade the people to carry out their religion activity . The God heard about this tyranny , and led by Bhatara Indra they attacked Mayadenawa . In the end Mayadenawa and his army lost the battle and run away to hide in the forest to the north of the village Tampak Siring .With his magic power he created a spring of poison . Which is coursed the death among Indra's troops who drank the water from the poisoned spring water . With his power Bhatara Indra drove his spear into the ground at the point where the spring was bubbling up . His holy water was used to splash all the troops and revive them from the grasps of death . According to folklore this myth is also connected to the Galungan day , which is celebrated every 6 month according to the Balinese calender , on the day of Galungan which is the battle betwen good ( Darma ) and evil ( Adharma ) is commemorated . Every year on the day of Galungan all the sacred dance mask in Gianyar regency are brought to the Temple to be bathed in holy spring water .

The visitors are required to pay the entrance ticket approx 20.000 / person and also required to wear Sarong a Balinese traditional cloth to enter the Temple area which is provided at the outer yard of the Temple's entrance .
